Integrating sound and context recognition for acoustic scene analysis

This research project in computational sound scene analysis, is part of the EPSRC-funded project “Integrating sound and context recognition for acoustic scene analysis”. We will investigate, develop and evaluate novel digital signal processing and machine learning technologies for context-aware sound recognition, applied to continuous audio streams in urban, nature and domestic environments. This work includes integrating audio-based context recognition with sound recognition methods, developing a research software framework and creating real and simulated datasets for context-aware sound recognition in complex acoustic environments.
